Join us, Ellie & Nicole for a soul-nourishing week of movement, restoration, and connection at the breathtaking Kayu Mama Resort in Uluwatu, Bali.
They met in October 2024 in New Zealand — Ellie had been living there for a few years with her Kiwi husband and their daughter, and Nicole had just landed at the start of her travels, teaching yoga at a private gym Ellie manages.
What started as a few chats over chai lattes quickly turned into something more, dreaming about retreats, talking about the kind of spaces we both love to be in, and how we could create that together.
The idea for this retreat came together easily and Bali just made sense. The energy, the land, the pace, the feeling of it all.
We’re so excited to bring this to life — and even more excited to share it with you.
This isn’t just a retreat. It’s a remembering. A soft landing back into your body, your breath, and your inner knowing — all held by the island’s gentle, powerful energy. Bali has a way of working with you. Of slowing you down so you can listen. Of showing you what you didn’t know you needed. Nestled in the heart of the Bukit forest in Uluwatu, Kayu Mama is a true sanctuary — the kind of place that instantly invites you to exhale. It’s where Bali’s untamed beauty meets intentional comfort, and every little detail is designed to help you slow down and come home to yourself.
Surrounded by jungle and just a short drive from some of Bali’s most iconic beaches and sacred temples, the resort feels like its own little world — quiet, lush, and alive with magic.
Each day will invite you deeper into yourself with morning yoga, nourishing workshops, and immersive sound baths to recalibrate your system. We’ll visit a sacred water temple for a cleansing ritual you won’t forget, and you’ll have space every day to simply be — journal, swim, nap, or soak in the magic around you.

You’ll be staying in beautifully crafted bungalows and suites made with natural materials — each with either garden or pool views, open-air or indoor bathrooms, private terraces, and of course, air conditioning (because we love being close to nature and sleeping well).
The spa here is a dream — nestled in the garden and complete with a cold plunge, sauna, steam room, and a full menu of bodywork and healing treatments, from traditional Balinese massage to acupuncture and reflexology. It’s the perfect place to melt, restore, and reconnect.
We’ll gather each day in the open-air yoga shala, surrounded by palms and birdsong, for our daily movement and mindfulness practices. It’s a space that naturally invites presence — a place to ground, to breathe, and to be fully here.
Nourishment is a big part of this retreat — and Forage, the on-site restaurant, does it beautifully. The meals are vibrant, colorful, and packed with love — made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients with plenty of vegan, veggie, and gluten-free options. Think home-baked breads, fresh juices, and food that truly feeds you on all levels.
Kayu Mama isn’t just where we’ll be staying — it’s part of the experience. A space to land, to soften, and to remember what it feels like to be held by nature.

We will set up a WhatsApp chat before to buddy people up travelling to the venue.

We recommend bringing comfortable clothing for the countries climate, a reusable water bottle, a yoga mat and props (if you have them) and any personal items you need. We send out a packing list before each retreat.
